There are so many choices when it comes to the wedding cake. Do you want chocolate, strawberry, traditional wedding cake, etc. flavoring? What kind of icing should go on the cake? What about the style of the cake? Should it have two layers or three; or should it be a flat cake? The options are limitless and honestly can be daunting. You might even think, "Why not let my fiancé make those decisions?" You're just going to eat it in the end, and as long as it tastes good, that's all that matters. But, there is one cake that you really do need to care about. That cake is your groom's cake. This is where you get to show a bit of your personality.

#AskTheBridesmaid – What if My Sister Doesn't Ask Me to be a Bridesmaid?
Dear #AskTheBridesmaid,
My sister is getting married this winter to the man of her dreams! I'm super happy for her to get married, but she hasn't asked me to be a bridesmaid or even the maid of honor. I know for a fact that she has asked most of her friends to a be a bridesmaid.
I just don't know how to ask her if she's going to make me a bridesmaid because I really want to be a part of her big day, and I will be extremely upset if she doesn't make me one. In my opinion, it's just not right not to have your sister as a part of your big day.
Please tell me what to do.
Katie

#AskTheBridesmaid – Do I Have to Pay for an Event I'm Not Even Going to Attend?
Dear Ask The Bridesmaid,
I have been asked to be a bridesmaid for one of my best friends. We met in college, and I'm so excited for her to tie the knot! The thing is, I'm from Europe and live here too, and she's from the U.S. and will be having the wedding there. That's not the issue cause I've already got a plan to save my money to be there for the bachelorette party, wedding, makeup, hair, etc. The issue is that the other bridesmaids have decided to plan another bridal shower aside from the bachelorette party, made plans without my input or another bridesmaid's who live pretty far away too, and expects us to pay for this.
I won't have the time or the money to make it for this bridal shower. I've already bought a wedding gift for my friend to send over, but I just don't think I should pay for this shower that I had no idea about, didn't help with the planning, or will even be there. What should I do because I don't know what to tell them? Am I being reasonable in thinking this way?
Please help,

#AskTheBridesmaid – Do I have to pay for expensive makeup and hair?
Dear Ask the Bridesmaid,
I am in a very tough spot for an upcoming wedding I will be in. My brother is getting married, and his future wife has asked me to be a bridesmaid. I'm honored she asked me, but the problem is that she expects us to pay for our hair and makeup. Which I wouldn't care about, except for the fact that it's gonna cost me $250!
That's stupid expensive, especially since I just got married, bought a house, and I know that it shouldn't cost that much. Like for my wedding, it was only $50 for my bridesmaids to get their hair done, and if they wanted their makeup done too, it would cost an extra $35. So to help out, I paid $15 each for the cost, and they all agreed to get their makeup done on top of that. I basically made it an option because I know what it's like.
What should I tell her because I need to save money, but I also don't want to make her angry or my brother angry?
