Childrens Pirate Party

February 22nd, 2008 - Posted by Jamie Adams

Ahoy matey! Invite your child’s friends over for a special pirate ship theme party. Send out treasure map invitations with your house as the spot where the treasure is buried. X marks the spot for the pirate ship fun.

Drape your table with a black cloth and scatter gold coins around the table. Red and black make a good color scheme for a pirate party. Thick rope can add to the pirate ship feel. Tie red and black balloons around the dinning area.

Have eye patches on hand for each child and help them draw on a beard or goatee with black eyeliner. When all of the children have arrived help them create their own swords with some cardboard, construction paper and a glue stick.
Divide the children into two even teams and have them compete in a battle of tug of war. Then send them off on a scavenger hunt to find hidden treasure around your yard. Treasure maps will add to the fun of hunting down the secret treasure.
Serve goldfish crackers, fish sticks, pirate punch and a treasure chest cake.

Help the children wind down from all the pirate ship fun by reading them a pirate themed book before parents come to pick them up.

Send them home with treasure bags full of chocolate gold coins, tattoos, and fake jewelry. Make sure to take a lot of pictures of the children in their pirate outfits or behind life size pirate cut-outs. They will want to have photos to remember their special pirate party fun. Don’t forget to send the kids home with their very own bag of party treasures.
