Spring Has Sprung With Baby Shower Ideas!

Spring is finally in full swing with blooming flowers, sunshine, and new life popping up everywhere. Including a few expectant mother's who need a baby shower, right? Whether you are planning one for yourself or for a friend, use the beautiful inspiration of the season to make your baby shower fun and memorable.

Spring Baby Shower Themes

Newborn Spring
Baby animals couldn't be cuter and they are extra fitting as the springtime is so full of new life. To incorporate adorable animals into your shower, create a garland of furry friends by stringing up stuffed animals that match your theme colors. Also, use white handkerchiefs to create diapers for each animal and the entire room will be surrounded by cuteness.

For your baby shower cake, your local bakery will have tons of options for a wide-eyed baby animal dessert, like the fun fondant creatures atop cupcakes in the photo below. We adore these egg-shaped scented soaps that come in their own little nest – perfect baby shower favors!

Sweet Taste of Spring
Nothing is sweeter than the smell of spring but candy comes close! Have fun choosing happy candy colors to decorate with. The best part is this decor can double as a snack. Create a tablescape that really pops by pouring loose candies into clear jars and vases of all different sizes. Also, take small colorful lollipops in clear cellophane wrappers and tape them a few inches apart on a long piece of string for an easy garland. Willy Wonka would be proud.

Ready to Pop Baby Shower

Planning a baby shower is truly an exciting time for you, the mom-to-be, and her guests. It's a time to celebrate the joy of motherhood and to welcome to new baby into everyone's lives. However, are you looking for a great baby shower theme? One that comes to mind that is great for a little boy or girl is a "Ready to Pop" baby shower and Wedding and Party Network has all the details on how to create this adorable look.

Ready to Pop

Baby Shower Decorations – Of course, there's that saying "You look like you're about to pop" that mothers hear when they're pretty far along in their pregnancy. So, this baby shower is just a play off that saying. Think about things that pop. However, the first thing you must do is settle on colors. Is it for a boy, little girl, or are you wanting to keep it gender neutral? Honestly, this shower looks best when it's bright, colorful, and you feature different colors.

Once you settle on the colors, you can start finding the right table linens, centerpieces, and balloons to include in your shower decor. Keep it simple with the bright colors.

Popping Food – Where you really make this shower shine is with the party food. Again, play off the word "pop". What comes to mind? Popcorn, cake pops, gum balls, suckers with bubblegum inside, pop rocks, rice krispy treats, home-made pop tarts, and soda pop all come to mind. Make this an all dessert shower. Most of the time guests come to showers having already eaten so your food can go to waste. Having an all dessert shower is great to satisfy their sweet tooth and give them something to snack on.

On your dessert table, feature different flavors of popcorn in popcorn tubs that feature your colors. Have your cake pops and pop tarts displayed in a fun way as well. Also, don't forget to set up a candy bar. Feature gum balls in a variety of colors, Blow pops, Pop Rocks, bubble gum, and any other type of candy you can think of. A baby shower cake is a must too.

Pop Quiz – If you want to have shower activities, you can have guests see who can blow the biggest bubble from bubble gum, catch bubbles, or create a pop quiz that features questions on the mother-to-be and pregnancy facts. These games are fun for everyone!

Inspirational Friday – Baby Shower

Baby showers are full of excitement and love. It's time to celebrate the new addition to the family and to show off love for the happy family. Do this by creating a unique baby shower theme that is full of wonderful party decor, food and an amazing baby shower cake. First, pick a theme that is appropriate for the gender or keep it neutral if the parents plan on waiting to find out the gender. There are various themes like a jungle safari, pretty in pink or a nautical inspired baby shower. Just keep in mind the gender and the style of the family. From there, you can choose the right baby shower decorations, pick the mom's favorite food and find the right party cake that displays the theme. Always find something unique and creative to make this a special time for the new parents-to-be.

About To "Hatch" Baby Shower

Need an idea for a Spring baby shower? A shower theme that can be geared towards a beautiful baby boy or a little princess? Why not go with an adorable bird themed shower? It can be called, "Hatching A Baby". This adorable themed baby shower would be perfect for either gender that the guests will love! With so many cute ideas for this theme, the new mother-to-be will be ecstatic!

Flying Invitations

Well, not really flying, but they will feature adorable birds on the invitations letting the guests know the theme of the shower. The party invitation is simple and classic featuring a fun bird's nest or adorable little bird.

It should also feature an adorable phrase, such as, "Anna is hatching a baby". The design of the invitation should simple, yet cute with all the little details.

Feathery Decorations

Colors should be pastels. Maybe a pastel pink, blues or yellows. When deciding on what party decorations to use, you should think of feathers! You can do so many things with feathers, all so cute and fun!

First off, one of the main party decorations that is featured at a baby shower is the diaper cake. Take that diaper cake to the next level by placing feathers on top of it, just like a cake topper. You can also place adorable little bird's nests around the cake with birds or maybe a few branches to truly set the theme.

Next, place bird cages and houses out as centerpieces. Place nests, wood birds and feathers inside as decor. Or, use a cage as a card holder for the mother-to-be. It's an extremely cute way to keep the cards in a safe place. Fill vases with feathers or eggs for a fun centerpiece and party accents.

A great idea that can serve as a guest book and centerpiece is placing a some branches that represent a tree and hanging tags from it. Guests can write their best wishes and then hang it on the tree.

Are you having a smaller get together, maybe a brunch and will need place settings? Place out adorable eggs with the guest's names on them as a place setting. If this is a spring baby shower, it will be great for Easter just around the corner. You'll be able to find party decorations for Easter and can incorporate them into this shower.

Eat Like A Bird

Of course, there should be party food at the baby shower. The baby needs it's nutrients. Of course, when you think of this shower, you think of spring. Which, when you think of spring, you think of light and refreshing food.

Therefore, that's what you should serve. Nothing heavy, just something refreshing to the palette.

Refreshing salads, fruits and vegetables should be on the menu with citrus vinaigrette. Light, refreshing appetizers, finger foods and tea sandwiches would be ideal for this event.

Along with refreshing appetizers, you should also think of desserts. Create a fun cake with feathers and nests or cupcakes with birds and toasted coconut that represents the nest. Set out a candy buffet.

Since Easter is around the corner, Easter candy is already being set out. You can find Peeps, candied eggs and candy grass that you'll be able to place out on your candy bar. Such a fun and cute idea. Remember, just stick with the theme. Think birds, eggs, branches, grass and pastels and you'll have one "tweet" baby shower.

Send your guests home with a "Thanks for feathering our nest" cookie as a party favor and your baby shower look will be complete.

Inspirational Friday – The Color Blue

#5 Pink Baby Shower Cake For Girl

This was actually the baby shower cake for a young lady who works with Wedding And Party Network. We can honestly say that every bite was delicious. One tier of chocolate, one of French vanilla. Mmm.

To make it fitting of a baby shower for a little girl, buttercream icing was used with pink icing accents. A pink rubber ducky, mini bunny slippers and other fun cake decorations were used as well.

#4 Twin Girls Baby Shower Cake

Twin Girls Baby Shower Cake

This is a favorite because of the creativity of the baker. Creating a baby shower cake for twin girls can be a challenge but this baker did well! She created a two tiered cake decorated with pink and white frosting.

For emphasis Ana created two cookie suckers and decorated these with pink and white frosting. She spelled out the girls' names on each cookie as well. What a great way to celebrate two new lives!

#3 Green & Yellow Baby Shower Sheet Cake

This adorable baby shower cake is decorated with glittering treats in the shape of a baby bottle, a diaper pin, a green bow, a rubber ducky, a rattle, and a top. This neat baby shower cake is decorated in pale yellow icing with green piping accents.

#2 Animal Baby Shower Cake Featuring Gum Paste Animal Figurines

Jungle Animals Baby Shower Cake

This animal baby shower cake is one tier of jungle fun for the guests. Gumpaste animal figurines in the shape of a lion, rhinoceros and a stork delivering a baby are used to complete the top tier decorations.

A large second tier is also surrounded with gumpaste figurines in jungle animal shapes. Blue icing is used to decorate the top tier, though pink could be used for a girl. Yellow icing (a very neutral color where babies are concerned) lines each tier beautifully.

Bassinet baby shower cakes are very popular. This bassinet party cake took many hours to create and only a few minutes to enjoy.

The details are incredible. The little girl's name (Teryn) is written into the pillow. A teddy bear is placed where the little girl would be cradling it. Most of the cake is covered in a pink blanket made of fondant and touched with frilly accents. This cake is irresistibly sweet in so many ways.
