You've been dating your significant other for a while and you know many family and friends will be asking those annoying questions, "So when are you popping the question?" or "When do you plan on getting married?" Our Story – Conner & Blaire
The Beginning
It all started a few years ago at an event called Greek Week at Arkansas State University. As I was leaving the event a blue-eyed babe casually said, "Hey," as I walked by. I cautiously said, "Hey," back because I was unsure if he was speaking to me. Later that night someone with the name of mconner_5 added me on Snapchat and we started to snap almost everyday. A few weeks after Greek Week my big sister in my sorority, Madison Caldwell and her boyfriend set us all up to all hang out! I was so excited and anxious but it went great! After that Conner and I went on our official first date to see Spider Man.
The Proposal
Conner and I had plans to go on a normal date night but when I got in the car I knew something was up. He told me the plans had changed a little bit and said that I couldn't ask any questions. He started handing me cards with little clues as to where we were going! We went and got my favorite candy, then shopped for a little bit, got some ice cream and then the next card said we were going home and getting ready for dinner! When we pulled into my driveway I had to close my eyes and was told to get on Conner's back! He carried me to my backyard… There were pink petals leading to a beautiful gazebo lit up with string lights. We sat down and he told me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I happily said YES and we went to celebrate with family and friends!
Happily Ever After
Conner and I got married on June 11th! We had our wedding outside at Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro, AR. It was an amazing day that I will remember for the rest of my life!

Our Story – Wilton and Tilda
The Beginning
Wil and I met on the track team at Arkansas State University. With the prettiest brown eyes and kindness like no one else, I liked him from the start. Before we started dating I remember that he asked me to come along on a John Mayer concert two months before it even took place. I, not trying to get my hopes up, assumed we were just going as friends. When the concert came around we had been on dates and not soon after that concert we were dating. Now we’ve been together for almost 2.5 years and we’ve had a lot of fun along the way.
Engagement Parties 101
Hosting an engagement party can be a rewarding experience. Most happy couples are thrilled and ready to celebrate! This is not simply a bridal shower, but a party that announces their future life together. Invitations, decorations, food, the venue, and entertainment must be considered in your planning.
The Details
The couple of honor needs to first provide a guest list. Find out what type of party would they enjoy. Use them as a springboard for ideas when considering the theme, size, and formality of the event. Food may be casual or formal, dictated by the theme and the budget. Flowers add beauty and depth to any room, and depending on a color scheme or particular season, will help accentuate any area.
Our Story – Rebecca & Jack
The Beginning
Jack and I met at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR. He was dateless for his Sigma Chi formal sophomore year. I was a freshmen looking for a date and I was in the right place at the right time.
One night when we were sitting in my friend Ashley’s room and there was a knock on her door. I answered it and one of Jack’s friends was standing in the hallway with a card that read, “Come to the hallway.” I walked down the hallway to see Jack standing with a large bouquet of flowers and a sign with the question, “Will you go to formal with me?” Of course I said YES!
Our Story – Seth and Megan Alkire
Seth and I actually grew up together at First Southern Baptist Church but never really knew each other! He was the drummer for the youth band and I knew I loved him when I saw that shaggy hair. We started dating in 2011 and got engaged September 3, 2015!
Our proposal is one of my favorites… We had been talking about getting married soon so I knew it was coming up. He wanted to throw me a birthday dinner but I hated having attention only on me so I thought it would be perfect to invite my best friend Kelsey to be a part of it too since her birthday was only a few days away! I was excited because now it would be a birthday dinner party for both of us.

Wedding Wednesday – First to Know About Engagement
Your Wedding Wednesday Question
Who should be the first to know about my engagement?
Answer:
I would avoid broadcasting it on social media until you've told the most important people in your life first. If you have children, they should be the first to know. Other than that, let your family know first and then your closest friends. Once everyone you're close with knows, start broadcasting it to the world if you so desire.
We hope this answered your question!
