Valentine's Day is a day for love. It's about showing the people you love how much you do care for them. However, everyone thinks that this needs to be shown EVERYDAY, not just on this one day out of the entire year. For those who only get around to it a couple of times a year, this day included, you need to go all out. This doesn't just include your sweetheart, it includes your kids as well. Wedding and Party Network has got your Valentine's Day planned out for you.

Start The Day Off Right – Before you wake your child or children up for school, place tiny Valentine's Day gifts around the house. Place a flower on their bed stand, draw a heart on the bathroom mirror and have a card that plays music set out with their clothes. Also, don't forget to create their favorite food in the shape of hearts, like pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream or biscuits and gravy.

Off To School – Have something special planned for the kiddos on their way to school too. It will make their day that much more special and help school go by way fast, which they will enjoy. So, tell them how much you love them. Also, pack their lunch with special treats, make sure they have Valentine's for their friends at school and a box of chocolates for their teacher.

If You Have Time… – If you have time during the day, spend time whipping up a tasty Valentine's Day dinner and desserts. This can serve as an after school snack on their way home when you pick them up.

A Special Lunch – Take time to go to school and have lunch with your child. They'll absolutely love that and feel special. You can even bring them flowers, stuffed animal or candy to school for their present.

On Their Way Home – From school, give them their special after school snack. Play fun love songs and let them have a fun time on their way home. Be silly and enjoy one another's company, which can sometimes be taken for granted.

Dinnertime – For dinner, let your kids cook something they enjoy, like pizza. A heart-shaped pizza or macaroni and cheese will make excellent kid dinners. Don't forget about the special dessert.

Bedtime – Before bedtime, don't forget to tell them how much you love them and tuck them in for a good night's rest.

Make Valentine's Day a special day for your children. Also, you can take this same concept and apply it to your special sweetheart and significant other or even parents. Valentine's Day is a special day to show love, so do it!

Are you running around last-minute trying to search for the perfect gift? It's a little late, however, there is still hope that you can find a great gift even when everything seems to be picked over. Are you thinking, what is possibly left out there that will still make a great gift? Well, Wedding and Party Network has some gift giving tips and ideas for the holiday season. Don't forget that New Years is just around the corner, and these gift ideas will make wonderful hostess gifts too!

In The Kitchen – If the recipient enjoys spending time in the kitchen, there are a lot of neat little gadgets out there. Adorable printed pie, cake & casserole holders for the ones that enjoy bringing treats to parties or an adorable apron. You can also do a little DIY (do-it-yourself) gifts. Create a cookie in a jar that features all the ingredients for your favorite cookies with the recipe attached with a cute bow or create a little gift with a whisk filled with candy in the middle and add the saying, "We whisk you a happy holiday." Just get creative.

Tech Savvy - For the girl/guy who loves being up-to-date on all the latest technology, you'll find fun flash drives that are suitable for everyone's personality. A digital photo frame, laser pointer, flash drive & pen all-in-one, customizable jewelry that feature their favorite "tweets" or one of the latest phones or tablets.

For The Home – Candles are always a great way to go, especially since there are a ton of scents, styles, types and designs of candles. Find one that matches their personality with fun sayings, colors, designs or how the candle smells. Don't forget to go with the traditional picture frame, those never get old.

Fashion Forward – Find beautiful jewelry for the hostess or fashion accessories. Friendship bracelets and necklaces have gotten an updated look, so those are really fun to give as gifts. Find scarves, preferably in a neutral color so the recipient can match it with just about anything in their closet. However, don't be afraid to go crazy with the print. They might not have been brave enough to buy it.

These are just a few ideas that you will definitely find at your favorite place to shop. There are still items out there that make wonderful gifts, and if you think you won't find anything or just don't want to brave the crowd, DIY your gifts. So, get out there and start finding the perfect last-minute gifts!

It's about that time to throw a bachelorette party. All of your girls are lining up dates and times so that you can enjoy a fun night together. This is one of the most fun occasions before the wedding. It is also one of the most memorable.

A really good way to celebrate the chicas in your life is to give them gifts at the bachelorette party. If you want that night to be all about you, consider throwing a bridesmaids party. Not only does this say "thank you" for all the times that they've stuck by you, it gives you a chance to remind them that you'll always be there for them also.

Need some gift ideas for the ladies in your life? Consider the type of woman that she is. This will help tremendously when purchasing bridesmaids gifts. Here are some examples:

The Night Owl: Rarely in bed early, loves going out, seems to watch a lot of infomercials.

Something flashy is probably a safe bet for this woman. A set of colorful cosmetics makes the clubbing makeup more fun. This may be your bridesmaid who is very sedate but likes staying up late at night. If this is the case, try something fun like her favorite movie that no one will watch with her. This time, opt in for the popcorn and film noir.

The Working Mom: Bounces between children and career, the ultimate soccer mom.

A bath set of to calm and relax this busy lady will be appreciated more than words can express. There isn't much left for self after a long day of juggling children, work and husband. Give this mom a reason to put the kids in bed early by giving her a bath kit complete with luxurious bath oils, a loofah, balt salts and perhaps a CD of calming music.

The Girly Girl: Loves shopping, beauty, and is often particular about appearance.

This is the girl for whom manicures and pedicures were invented. Why stray from the tried and true? A girls-day-out at the beauty salon would do this woman's heart good. Join her for a fun getaway after the married life begins. Also consider jewelry or a cute purse that she can carry during the wedding. If your favorite ladies are carrying bridesmaids purses instead of bouquets, give hers some extra attention. This is especially beneficial if she's the maid or matron of honor.

The Contemporary: She would make the perfect city girl, if she isn't already.

The contemporary bridesmaid is familiar with modern styles of decor, fashion, art, cooking and similar things. Technology serves this woman well. She probably has a pda and other gadgets so go one step further with a new mp3 player, digital camera, or earrings that match the color of the ear buds that she rarely removes.

This is the woman that would also benefit from a home decor piece such as bookends, unique candles and candleholders. If this seems like a boring gift, try something like tickets to the theater or the opening of an art show. A very special treat is if you make plans to spend this evening with her.

The Intellectual: Spends time reading, seems to know a little bit about everything.

Go a little bit more in depth than books on tape for this bridesmaid. Gifts for the intellectual bridesmaid should reflect her love of learning and culture. Consider a bottle of wine and a set of barware accessories. If she's not a drinker consider a book with a compilation of photographs by a talented digital photographer such as Margaret Bourke-White. MP3 players and techy gizmos are also perfect for this woman.

Ask The Expert: I have been invited to attend a Kwanzaa celebration at a friend's house.  What do I need to know a Kwanzaa and what kind of hostess gift etiquette applies?

Wedding and Party Network: That's a great question! Many people want to help friends and loved ones enjoy Kwanzaa though they themselves have not celebrated the holiday. Enjoying Kwanzaa for the first time is also a significant occasion that merits special attention. Even those who have celebrated Kwanzaa for years can benefit from understanding the holiday's gift giving etiquette.

First, let's start with some background information on Kwanzaa. The holiday was founded in Continue reading "Ask The Expert: What Gifts Can I Send For Kwanzaa?" »
