LSU Stadium Goom's Cake
LSU Stadium Goom's Cake
One look at the extreme grooms cakes by Crystal Wedding and you can see what sets them apart from other bakeries. The craftsmanship on their unique wedding cakes is mind blowing! Who would have ever thought to build LSU Stadium into a cake?? (Well they did! Several other Stadiums too.) The patience that the mother-daughter team put into their cake design is really remarkable.

Experience is definitely needed to create these masterpieces. Growing up in her mother Mary Boudreaux's bakery, its no wonder Crystal Williams joined the team. Together they have some 50 years experience under their belts. Knowing the importance of quality, they and their staff bake and cook in the finest of American, French and European traditions. Everything made by hand with the freshest ingredients.

Kings Cake Mardi Gras Cake

Speaking of traditions, ever heard of a King Cake? They are a uniquely New Orleans Mardi Gras tradition perfected by the Lafayette, Louisiana bakery. It looks like a giant festive pastry that serves 20-25 people! All cakes have a small trinket inside and who ever finds it in their piece has the privilege of buying next years cake! How festive! (They also ship these anywhere!)

A Mardi Gras themed party is not complete without the King Cake, but if its a wedding coming up Crystal Wedding's is your go-to source in for all your wedding planning needs. They have everything you need from toasting glasses, chair covers and cake toppers, to floral centerpieces, candelabras and topiaries. But of course, wedding cakes and grooms are their specialty! So if you are looking for an extra special wedding cake with an artistic flare Crystal Wedding is your place!

The Perfect Grooms Cake for the 5 Personalities of Mr. Right

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009 - Posted by Rob Gulliver

After hours of careful research, I have put together a list of possible grooms cake ideas for your next bachelors party or wedding reception. From the eyes of a male, the perfect grooms cake must capture the personality of the groom, as well as offer a bit of humor to the event in which it is presented. However, some cakes will send the wrong message to the groom no matter how creative the idea.

Tip Back a Guiness Grooms Cake
Tip Back a Guiness Grooms Cake
The first cake we must address is the Guinness Grooms Cake. This cake is alcohol-free and is unfortunately not available in a keg or on draft. Actually any cake adorned to appear like a cold brew is a humorous choice for a groom that enjoys his beer. I believe this cake could turn a drab, stiff wedding into an occasion any male would enjoy.

The Tools and Chocolate Grooms Wedding Cake embodies the hard working side of a man, not typically depicted on a cake. As the groom goes to cut this cake on his big day, a hard hat is not required, but would be perfect attire to complete the aura of such a masculine baked good. Brides, do not let your groom use the tools as they're most likely frosting.

However inappropriate this cake may be for super formal events, the Horse Poop Grooms Cake WILL make every male in the room laugh. What pulls this cake off, to me, and adds a sense of realism are the candy flies swarming the sweet chocolatey nuggets. Mmmm, can you imagine now which piece you'll choose?

Funny Grooms Cake

To show her appreciation for finding such a great catch, the Bride should present this humorous grooms cake as a surprise to her new husband during their wedding reception. The cake offers a modern spin to the classic image of a caveman dragging his girlfriend by her hair back to the comfort of his cave. For all the recipients of this cake, consider getting used to the term "yes dear".

Sports Team Grooms Cake

The last cake we'll address is the Sports Team Grooms Wedding Cake. Every man has his favorite sports team, and what better way is there to pay homage to such an iconic institution than at your very own wedding! A groom and all his best men will find no greater joy than to indulge themselves with a bite out of the logo of their favorite team.

The groom's wedding cake is possibly one of the most important aspects of a wedding. From giving the room humor, to paying respect, to sending the right message, your cake should focus on what is most important to the groom on his and his bride's big day.

Where Can I Buy Wedding Caker Topper For Razorback Cake

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 - Posted by Jamie Adams

Ask The Wedding Guide: I love the bride/groom razorback with veil/top hat cake topper. Can I buy just that cake topper by itself? Sharon from Knoxville Tn.

Sharon,

This grooms cake from Fayetteville AR, is an awesome example of how cake toppers make the difference between a nice cake and an awesome cake.  I believe in this case, the topper is actually two cakes covered with frosting and fondant to create the razorbacks.  The top hat was created with fondant and the veil was a piece of tulle.  I'm sure a local Knoxville Tn bakery could recreate the razorbacks for you.   Other options would be to find a cake topper supplier in Knoxville that specializes in sport memorabila.

WEDDING CAKE IDEAS

History of the Wedding Cake

The importance of wedding cakes goes back for centuries. Originally, wedding cakes represented fertility, prosperity, and also symbolized the couple’s new life together. Many even think that the tiered wedding cake was not born out of artistic creation, but actually out of necessity.

The tradition of the wedding cake can be found as far back as the Romans. According to legend, Read the rest of WEDDING CAKE IDEAS »
