5 Delicious Cupcakes for Summer

Cupcakes are an essential part of any party now. They truly are stand out and unique things are being done to cupcakes now. So, why not showcase some unique cupcakes at your next summer party. Skip out on the cake, which risks melting in the hot summer heat, and opt for cupcakes which is an easy dessert to serve. So, Wedding and Party Network has some must have summertime cupcakes.

Cheeseburger Cupcakes

The Cheeseburger Cupcake – Summer is all about the BBQ's and grilling out. Therefore, why not create a cupcake that resembles just that with a cheeseburger cupcake. Cheeseburgers are definitely staple pieces during the summer. They are easy to make, everyone likes them and they're just yummy. These are also super simple to make.

All you need to do is make a vanilla cupcake, chocolate brownies, cut the vanilla cupcake in half, use a circle cookie cutter to cut patties out of the chocolate brownie and place that in the center. Of course, you need the condiments for the cheeseburgers. You can dye shredded coconut green for the lettuce or just dye icing red, yellow and green for the condiments. Assemble and you'll have a cheeseburger cupcake.

Ice Cream Sundae Cupcake – Start with chocolate, strawberry and vanilla cupcake. Layer the batter in a cupcake liner to create a Neapolitan ice cream like cupcake. All you need to do to finish off the cupcake is to place whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry on top. For an extra special touch, add a fun little straw to the cupcake.

Margarita Cupcake – A refreshing margarita during the summertime is a must. However, why not switch it up a bit and go with a margarita cupcake instead. Basically, you take your basic vanilla cupcake, add some lime juice and top it off with some lime flavored icing, rim the cupcake with sugar and add a lime wedge for the finishing touch.

Ice Cream Cupcakes

Watermelon Cupcake –A juicy piece of watermelon during a hot summer day is always a delightful treat. So, why not infuse the flavor into a cupcake. They are really simply adorable and super easy to create. Again, you just take your favorite, basic vanilla cupcake and add a bit of watermelon flavoring to it. You can even add a bit of green food coloring to make it stand out. For the icing, use your favorite buttercream recipe and add a bit of pink and red to the icing until you get that watermelon color. For the watermelon seeds, just use black sprinkles. This will be a big hit at your next outdoor party!

Snowcone Cupcake – Snowcones are such refreshing treats to cool off with in the summer. Who wouldn't want a snowcone cupcake? They are so cute and a great treat for summer. So, how do you make them? Prepare your cupcake batter and choose 3 colors that you would like to feature in your cupcake. Divide the batter into 3 bowls and use your food coloring to color the batter. Next, find cute cupcake liners and place the batter into the liner side by side. Just imagine how a snowcone looks.

For the cupcake icing, prepare your favorite recipe and again use those same 3 colors you used for the batter. How do you put the icing on? Again, just imagine how a snowcone looks with the round top and imitate that on top of the cupcake with the icing. Use colored sprinkles on top to create the ice look that you get with snowcones.

Girls Night In Cupcake Party!

With summer coming to an end and the school year starting up, everyone has been busy. Whether they have vacationed on the beach or getting their kids ready for school, everyone has been busy. Therefore, you haven't been able to see friends or family too much. So, what better time to throw a party and get everyone together? However, put a fun twist on a girl's night in with a cupcake and cocktails themed party. Wedding and Party Network has a few party tips to make this party theme and success!

The most important part about this party is making sure you have a variety of cupcakes with the right cocktails to match. The best suggestion is to visit your local bakery or caterer and ask them what's the best pairings. Or, if you have free time, try it out for yourself.

Cake Week – Unique Cupcake & Cake Displays

This is our last day of cake week and today we are talking about all the unique ways you can display your cakes, cupcakes and favors! Sure you may have tasty desserts at your special event, but displaying them in a unique way is even better. It'll grab the attention of your guests and make them question if that is what they think it is. So, for our last day of cake week we are going to talk all about fun ways that you can display special treats!

Cupcake Display Ideas

Cupcake Trees – Of course, most everyone has heard of cupcake trees. However, play them up and make them unusual. Make the tiers round, square or a unique shape. Make them your own. A display that will represent the theme of your wedding or event. If you use a cupcake tree, incorporate the elements of your wedding or even into it.

Use ribbon or scrapbook paper for the cupcake tiers to incorporate your wedding colors or party theme into it. Make it an odd shape, start with the smaller tier first and get bigger as you go up. Or create a tree out of your cupcake tower, where it actually looks like a tree. There are all sorts of unique things that you can do with a cupcake tower, just get creative!

Flower Pots – Yes, flower pots are great ways to display cupcakes! It can serve as a centerpiece, delicious treat and even a party favor. As part of our cake week videos, we are giving you a how-to video on cupcake flower pots. They sound so adorable, right? All you need is a styrofoam ball, cupcakes, flower-pot and icing.

Bake the cupcakes like you normally would, ice them like you normally would or put fun designs on it and stick them into the styrofoam ball with toothpicks. Arrange them like you normally would flowers in a centerpiece. To fill it the gaps, ice green icing in them to make it look like grass or actually use Easter grass. It makes for a fun display!

Vintage Cake Stands –Vintage cake stands are so divine for any party. You can find them in various colors with unique designs that would be great for a shabby, chic wedding or event. Use different colors and designs and pair them with different textured and colored cakes. Make a table completely dedicated to cakes with vintage cake stands. It will truly be an attraction at any wedding or event.

Fun Cake Displays

Replica – Another fun idea that you can do when using cupcakes is actually make a replica of something. This would be ideal for a special event or birthday party. Just bake cupcakes, ice them in the colors that you want and get to creating. Place them out on the table to resemble a flag or a flower or even a pirate ship. These would be great as birthday cakes!

For example, use pink cupcakes for the petals, yellow cupcakes for the middle and then green cupcakes for the stem and leaves. All you have to do is make sure you have enough space on the table and lay the cupcakes out in that design. It's like you're drawing a flower out of cupcakes!

If you're really creative, carve a design out of styrofoam or even wood. Use toothpicks and icing to hold the cupcakes in place on the 3D sculpture. How fun would that be! Maybe your son loves race cars, well make him a race car out of cupcakes! It would truly be a unique sight to see!

Cake Week – Delightful Treats As Favors!

You are planning the perfect special event or party. You want to give your guests something that they can remember how special your event was with memories. However, do better than that. Send guests home with a special party favor that they will enjoy at home. Letting your guest take a favor home with them will truly remind them of how amazing your party or wedding was, it will bring them back to that very moment. Wedding Cake Tower – What's a wedding cake tower you're asking? Well, it's basically sugar cookies stacked in the form of a wedding cake. All you do is take 3 sugar cookies in a large size, 3 in a medium size and 3 in a smaller size. Ice each one of them with white icing and then stack them according to size. It will create a tier effect that looks like a wedding cake.

Place these in beautiful plastic containers and tie it up with a ribbon. These wedding favors will make absolutely wonderful wedding favors, as well as providing an amazing presentation.

Cupcakes In A Jar – Everyone enjoys cupcakes. Well, why not serve them in a jar for a tasty treat they can take home? All you do is find cute jars, bake cupcakes according to directions and find some colorful icing and ribbon. After the cupcakes have cooled, layer the cupcake then icing and add some sprinkles or whatever else you'd like in the jar.

As part of cake week, you can watch our how-to video below. You can use whatever type of cake mix you would like and even dye it with food coloring to get the colors of your event. Also, do the same thing with the icing. That way, if you have more than one color to your party or wedding theme, you can combine the two to create a favor fit for just that. Cake Week – Outdoor Party Desserts!

Day 2 of cake week is upon us and we'll be featuring delicious outdoor treats! The summer heat will be upon us soon and that means outdoor parties! When planning your summer party, keep in mind all the ideas that are out there for this time of year. Colorful and bold colors for party decorations and cool, refreshing treats are always a must for any summer themed party. However, have you fun out of great ideas for summer treats that will appease both the little ones and adults? Well, Wedding And Party Network has just the thing for you. We've picked our top 5 favorite summer desserts that will wow your guests each time!

Themed Cupcakes

A Pail Of Sand – Yes, a pail of sand is one of our favorite picks for summers sweet treats! If you're planning a beach themed party or just an outdoor party in general, this would be a fun idea for any age group! Plus, it not only serves as a yummy treat, but also a fun centerpiece or even party favors.

All you need is cake, pudding, crushed up graham crackers, candied shells and a sand bucket. You layer the cake with the pudding with the pudding being your last layer and then sprinkled the crushed up graham crackers on top for the sand effect. That simple, yet too cute!

Beach Cupcakes & Cake – No party is complete without the beach themed cupcakes and cake. Another simple, yet fun dessert to have at your outdoor party. Bake cupcakes in fun blue liners like your normally would and then let the icing work it's magic.

Use blue icing for the water and then ice the rest of the cupcake a tan color and then sprinkle crushed up graham crackers on top of that. You can also find candied seashells or plastic palm trees at your party store and place those on top as cupcake toppers. If you're doing a cake, you'll have more room to place other fun beach related items on top.

Summer Themed Cupcakes – Of course, you can do hamburger cupcakes, which are super fun and easy to make! However, start thinking outside the box and what fits your party theme. If you're grilling, then do cupcakes that look like real grills. Take brownie batter, bake it in black cupcake liners. Add 2 drops of black food coloring to white icing to get the color gray and pipe lines on the top of the brownie cupcakes. This will give it a grill like effect.

After the icing is dry, place candy fruit on toothpicks to make it look like a shish kabob or place the candy hot tamales on top to look like you're grilling hot dogs. You can do baseball cupcakes, ladybug or butterfly cupcakes or even corn cupcakes. A lawn mower cupcake would be great for a guy's party. Just bake the cupcake like normal, dye coconut green and sprinkle it on top. For the lawn mower, make it out of a miniature Hershey bar, brown m&m's for the tires and black licorice for the handle bar.

Ice Cream Cupcakes

We All Scream For Ice Cream –This would be a great treat for the little ones, we are even featuring a how-to video as part as our cake week. You'll need ice cream cones, cake mix, icing and sprinkles to make this fun creation. Make the cake mix and pour it into the ice cream cone and bake it like your normally would in the oven.

While they're baking, prepare the icing. Use food coloring to dye it whatever colors you would like or keep it classic with white to make it look like an actual ice cream cone. Once they have cooled, begin to ice and top them off with fun sprinkles. Your guests will think they're getting an actual ice cream cone, minus the melting of the ice cream in the heat.

Flip Flop Cookies –Now these would be great for everyone! Not just the kids, but the adults will love them as well. Again, easy and fun to make! You'll need some oval-shaped cookies, visit your bakery for some recommendations, frosting, gummy candy and rope licorice.

Frost 2 cookies to make a pair of flip-flops. Cut the licorice to make the straps on the flip-flops and place them on with some icing. You can mix and match colors to match the theme of your party! These will make wonderful treats or even a great party favor or a perfect accent to a beach wedding.

Cake Week – Unique Cupcake Ideas For Any Occasion

This week, Wedding And Party Network is kicking off the start of cupcake week! We have tons of unique ideas that we will be talking about and showing you through our videos! Cakes and cupcakes are such a great accessory to any party of wedding. You can truly make them your own and show off your personality and theme through cakes. So, for our first day of cake week, we are going to talk all about the fun things you can do with cupcakes!

A Variety Of Different Flavors & Icing

Wedding Cupcakes

Cupcakes are such a great treat for your guests to enjoy! They're simple and easy enough to pop in your mouth as you go. Plus, you can feature them in different flavors to appease all sorts of taste buds. You can feature them in vanilla, white cake, chocolate, strawberry, banana, cherry, butter pecan and pair them with delectable icing to go along perfectly with the flavor of the cake.

Your local bakery can come up with lots of variations of cupcakes, you just need to visit them and see! Now that we've covered the basics on the fact that you can feature cupcakes in a ton of flavors paired with different icing and are a delectable bite to pop in your mouth, what can you do with them to make them your own?

Get Creative

Are you wanting to use cupcakes for your wedding? Great idea! Again, you'll have guests at your wedding that don't share the same taste buds. Therefore, you can feature many flavors for your guests to try and you'll satisfy each and every one of them. However, get creative when showing off your cupcakes. Use fun cupcake liners or toppers.

You can feature cupcake liners that have your wedding colors or party colors in it. Also, another way to incorporate the theme of your party or wedding is with cupcake toppers. Create a tree out of wood and place your cupcakes on that if you're having a all-natural wedding. Are you throwing a princess birthday party? Well create a large princess wand and have side tiers going up it to place princess themed cupcakes on! Again, there are so many unique ideas out there, you just have to think outside the box and get a little creative.
