We love all these bright, colorful flowers featured in wedding bouquets, ceremony arrangements, wedding cakes and as reception centerpieces. Talk with your florist about the design of these flowers. They'll know what's on trend, in season and will work with you to display your style.
Inspirational Friday – Summer Weddings
Summer weddings will be here before you know it. Therefore, this week's Inspirational Friday focuses on summer weddings and all the little details we love about them.
The details that you can incorporate into your wedding during the summer are endless. The flowers, colors, venues and wedding dresses are all wonderful. Bright colors, outdoor venues and warm weather are all elements we tend to love. What are you planning for your summer wedding? We'd love to hear!
2015 Top Summer Wedding Bouquets
On your perfect day, you want the perfect bouquet. Next to you, the flowers are poised to be the talk of the day (and possibly long after). Here are five summer 2015 trends in bouquets that can give you an idea of what you want.
Pretty Pastels
Pastels are the perfect color scheme for feeling like a princess. Once pastels took the color crown, they never went away, and now they are the biggest color trend of 2015. The best flowers to use are garden or hybrid tea roses, mingling with smaller flowers like freesia and some cute berries for an extra pastel punch (and a little light green, allowing you to shy away from dark foliage among your lighter colors.) Roses are always in-season and are available in many pastel hues, including pink and yellow. Pastel will add a splash of color to your white ensemble without overwhelming it.
Size Matters: Large-Petaled Flowers
If pastels are too, well, pastel for you, think about making a statement with bright, bold, large flowers open against each other. They’ll be practically fighting for superiority, but your florist will easily be able to balance them out so that there is harmony in the battleground (namely, your bouquet holder.) This will make quite a statement against your white dress!
White Wonder
Whether you prefer large or small flowers, there is no color scheme more classic, and yet still a strong trend, than white. Kim Kardashian’s wedding was pure white, with the added statement of clean lines and no exposed stems. All greenery was hidden behind voluminous ribbon to emphasize the pure white blossoms, and that look is easily attainable for you. Your florist has many bouquet holders and ribbon styles to choose from if you decide to go the covered-stem route.
Bold Bling
What’s more fun than a bit of sparkle? Your florist has tons of choices in bejeweled accents for any style of bouquet. All shapes, sizes and colors of sparkly goo-gah are at your fingertips; some are threaded onto wire to go around the stems, others can be pinned to the flowers themselves. Glitter can be minimal, tucked into the blossoms to catch the eye, or it can be an in-your-face statement to your guests: “I am the princess today!” Whatever you choose, a glittery bouquet is a trend-forward option.
Garden Glory
If you want a more natural look, your florist can make your bouquet appear as though you picked it straight from a garden or meadow. It can look as wild and untamed as you like; your florist will be able to secure it in such a way that it will stay together. For a really “from the garden” look, consider integrating flowering herbs as well as flowers.
Your wedding is your day, and the bouquet is part of the centerpiece – which is you! Trend-forward and never passé, you are the star. Good luck!

2014 Summer Wedding Trends
You don't have to skim the internet long to figure out what is on trend for 2014 summer bridal season. There are many trends out there that you'll absolutely fall in love with and want to include in your wedding. So, what are those? Wedding and Party Network has a few trends that you'll love!
Vintage: There is something so romantic about adding old-world charm to your wedding day. It can take on a very personal touch by adding family heirlooms into the mix. If you have a guestbook table, grace it with old family wedding photos in classic frames. "Something borrowed" is easy when you are sensitive to the romantic moments that have occurred in your family's past. Romance is timeless, and those delicate touches will be your favorite parts of the day. Also, floral crowns, lace, rose tinted decor–it's all very feminine and dainty for this summer's nuptials. And it isn't just all about the bride–it is becoming increasingly popular to spend almost as much time styling the groom also. Brown suits and suspenders are making a come back. Being a big fan of all things vintage, I'm loving it all.
Sparkle: For the bride who wants romance, but also a dash of fun into her day, glitter is the way to go. Add it to invitations or jewelry for subtlety, or go big by incorporating it into your gown or the bridesmaid dresses. Very feminine wedding gowns with gold sparkle for the bridesmaids brings both aspects together. Flashy shoes of any shade showcase a fun and flirty personality, and putting glitz on your cake can bring that personality right into your reception.
A fan of the outdoors? If you or your groom are outdoor people, this is the perfect season to tap into that and use it for your wedding celebration. You can re-purpose branches and pretty flowers into an archway to get married under or to use as a backdrop. Or just let scenery do the talking and have your ceremony at an inspiring outdoor location. This summer's trend of using soft neutrals to make big statements works well outside.
Whether you're going for a theme or really desire to tap into your past, this spring/summer you'll find plenty to work with. The touches are delicate and timeless and easy to throw your own expression into. Creativity is key this bridal season and it starts with your own personal story. What better way to spend your day than putting your story into a celebration!

Planning a Summer Wedding?
5 Tips for Your Summer Wedding
A summertime wedding is such an ideal time! The beautiful colors and fun ideas for a summer wedding are limitless. However, it's also a time for the heat and swarming bugs. So, Wedding and Party Network is here with 5 wedding planning tips for your wedding.
- Check the Calendar – Look at this two ways; plan your wedding around a major holiday so your guests can use your wedding as an excuse for a vacation or be weary of holidays because most guests plan their vacations around holidays. However you look at it, be sure to send your save the dates out early.
- Think Local – Introduce your guests to the exciting things your town has to offer. Some may be from out-of-town and want to explore your town. So, try to plan activities for your out-of-town guests.
- Weather – Summer can definitely bring the heat, as well as a few showers. So, be prepared for anything!
- Dress Appropriately – Dress for the heat. Think lighter fabrics and colors for you, as well as the entire wedding party.

A Sweet & Elegant Backyard BBQ
It's starting to warm up, so now is the time to get outdoors. What better way to kick off the gorgeous weather than by hosting a backyard BBQ? Why not change up your BBQ though? Put a sweet and elegant twist on it.
Create the Setting – To create this setting, it's simple. Use vintage jars, vases and a mix of simplistic flowers. Think flowers galore.
For the Food – The other important aspect of this party is the food. What do you serve? First, plan out your meat. Chicken is always a crowd pleaser, as well as hamburgers. Once you've decided on your meats, move on to the side dishes. Whip up a batch of deviled eggs with a twist, such as adding prosciutto, serve marinated green beans or peas and pancetta.
While your guests are waiting on the food to be prepared, appetizers are great for them to nibble on. Seasonal fruit, phyllo wrapped asparagus, raspberry canapes with basil & balsamic or goat cheese tarts are all tasty!
Also, don't forget about dessert. Include fresh fruit within your desserts to give it a refreshing taste.
It's all about finding the right decorations and food to pull off a sweet and elegant backyard bbq.
