The rehearsal dinner is usually a gathering of your close friends and family, so you don't have to invite anyone's plus one. You can invite your guest's date if you would like, but don’t feel forced to do so.

What do I do to get my guest to RSVP in a timely manner?
Answer:
When you write the invitation include a timeframe to respond by putting “Please RSVP by…” in the invite. Send your invites with plenty of time in advance so your guests can make arrangements to make it to your wedding. the RSVP time frame should be about a month before your actual day so you can notify your caterer. Also, include an envelope with the address and stamp already on it to make it easier for guests to RSVP. You can also set up and RSVP online through a service or have your guests email their RSVP to you.
You can always give your guests a call if they haven’t replied by the due date. Check in with them a week before you need to have the information to your vendors.

How do we start figuring out a guest list amount? Which family gets the most guests? And if needed, what's the best way to shorten a long guest list? Since the bride's family is usually the ones footing the bill, should we start cutting from the groom's guest list?
Answer:
To build a guest list with some kind of strategy, combine four different lists; the bride’s, the groom’s and each of their parents guest that they would like to invite. For each of them to create their individual guest lists here are 3 lists to keep in mind; a “must”, a “like”, and a “can” list. That means people that Must be there, Would like to be there, and Can be there. These lists will help when cutting the guest list as well.

Should I plan my budget for wedding guest no shows?
Answer:
It's never a good idea to plan for less than the amount of invitations sent out. Budget around the full guest list. Yes, it's not guaranteed that everyone on your list will come to the wedding, but what if they do? Be prepared and never invite more than your budget. A surplus of food and drinks is better than not having enough for all your guests.

My great aunt sent me a message saying she is looking forward to attending my wedding. How do I tell her she isn't invited?
Answer:
Whatever your reason to not invite a family member or a friend, remember that this is your wedding and your decision is important. Stand your ground, but be polite. If budget is a reason, mention that. Tell her that although you and your fiancée would love for her to attend, unfortunately your budget or the size of your venue has caused you to make tough decisions regarding your guest list.
