Wedding Tip of the Week – Your Wedding Photos
Your wedding photos are one of the most important elements of your day. They capture the special moments for years to come. You've found your wedding photographer, now what can you do to ensure you get the best photos possible? This week's Wedding Tip focuses on a few ways on how you can prepare for your photos.
- Ensure Plenty of Time – Give yourself plenty of time to relax in front of the camera and get warmed up. Get with your photographer beforehand to see what they recommend.
- Make This a Private Affair – When you're taking photos for your bridal portraits or of you and your groom, make this about you or the both of you. Having an audience may make you feel uneasy.
- Relax – Make sure to relax your shoulders and just relax in general. Stand with confidence as well. Both of these suggestions help make better photos.
- Have Fun – The most important thing to remember is have fun. If you're having fun and enjoying yourself, it will read throughout your photos.
We hope these 4 tips help! Don't forget to share your wedding photos with us at social@weddingandpartynetwork.com.

Creative First Looks
Do you plan on seeing your husband-to-be or bride-to-be before the ceremony? This gives more time for visiting with your guests afterwards, if you get some of your wedding photos done beforehand. However, why not get creative with how you first see each other? Many brides are now doing creative first looks. Need some ideas? Wedding and Party Network has a few ideas that will make for a memorable first look.
Behind Closed Doors – There are many ways to use a door as a prop for your first look photos. You can either use a single door or a door at a location. If you use a single door, let your wedding photographer get creative. Some brides have just placed a single door in the middle of a field or somewhere around their wedding venue. However, you can also use the door to your bridal suite. Whatever works best. Once you found a location, the bride and groom stand on opposite sides of the door. Take photos of you holding hands, leaning up against the door, or even ready notes from each other. Once you're ready, the groom can open the door or you both can peek out. Either way is great and makes for some memorable photographs.
Blindfolded – Be sure to find a great blindfold for these pictures. Have you groom be blindfolded near the alter or wherever you would like. Then, you can sneak up on him from behind. Make silly faces, kiss, or whatever you like. Remember, he can't see you. Once you're ready, untie the blindfold.
Balloons – This makes for extremely adorable photographs. You and your groom each hold a bouquet of balloons. Make sure there's enough where he won't see you if peeking through the balloons. Walk towards each other. Once you get close enough, release the balloons. Such a cute idea!
The Traditionalist – If you want to do a creative first look, but keep it traditional. Consider having you groom stand at the alter or a spot of your preference and walk up behind him. This makes for great photos. Your wedding photographer can capture his face with you in the background. Once you reach your groom, tap him on the shoulder. Again, a great photo to have for your wedding album.
Get creative with your first looks, they make for unforgettable and ever-lasting wedding photos.
