It's "The City of Brotherly Love". Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is well known for being a city that celebrates closeness. Because of this, horse drawn carriage rides are especially popular in Philly because they allow a very intimate, romantic evening for couples.

Prefer snuggling up under a blanket to sitting in a crowded movie theatre? Why not move the cuddle date to a horse drawn carriage where you can quietly ride through the town under the stars? It's an unforgettable date; quite the "dear diary" moment for sure.

Philadelphia is a city steeped in wonderful history. Horse and carriages were the only way to travel across Philadelphia during the early days. While Philly has come quite a long way between then and now, it's still a fun blast to the past to rent a horse drawn carriage.

Guys:  Need A Romantic Date Idea?

Need a way to impress a date? Whether the first or the fourtieth time you've taken your sweetie around Philadelphia, rent a horse drawn carriage! You cannot top this first impression. Imagine her face as you knock politely on the door, present her with a lightly scented bouquet, then give your arm and escort her to a horse drawn carriage. Wow! What a great way to start a romantic evening!

Girls:  Want To Make Your Wedding Extra Special?

Arrive to your wedding in a horse drawn carriage if you want to ensure dropped jaws on all of your guests. Some may see this as the perfect expression of your personality (fun and unique) while others will be jealous and flabbergasted at your unique idea. Carriage rides are fun for everyone, but renting a horse drawn carriage for a Philadelphia PA wedding is something that will make your wedding extra special.

I have a lot of family near Chicago, Illinois. It's always fun to visit them because they know how to throw a rock solid party. The last time I visited was actually for a wedding of a distant cousin. Her wedding, much to my surprise, was held outdoors in a tent. Little did I know that tent rentals are kind of the thing for Chi-town!

Now I grant you that she lives in a suburb of Chicago so it was much easier to imagine a wedding held under a tent. The air was breezy and beautiful which is common in Chicago during the summer and spring. We stood out under this tent that she had rented and had a fabulous time! We danced during the reception and enjoyed some of the finest food I'd ever eaten. Her entire wedding was like a huge party only held under a tent!

She knows how involved I am with Wedding and Party Network so it seemed only natural that our conversation turned to where she got her wedding rentals (the chairs, tables, and chair covers were rented also). I was amazed by how beautiful her wedding was. When asked what her secret was, she listed off the name of a local Chicago wedding rental store. She then said that the clerks at that store, on top of hours and hours of planning, helped tremendously with her wedding planning.

"I'd never considered wedding rentals," she told me. "I'd always thought that you just bought everything but we found out that renting is much more economical and worked perfectly for us. We rented the chairs, their covers, all of the dinnerware and stuff on the table, and even the tables! As far as wedding rentals go, it may not have been the first thing on my mind but it'll be what I recommend for my friends. So when is your wedding again?"

After the laughter subsided, I knew she was right. Wedding rentals in Chicago, especially tent rentals, are GOLD. Renting is the way to go and comes highly recommended by other Chicago area brides.

Ask The Celebration Advisor: I'm from Denver, Colorado and am a real city girl. My mom read your blog about renting horse drawn carriages for weddings. I was wondering what Denver has to offer because I'm considering it for when I tie the knot in a couple months. Thanks! ~ Desiree

The Celebration Advisor: Desiree, awesome question! There are actually several different types of coaches for horse drawn carriage rides. Did you know that at one point there were over 300 varieties of horse drawn carriage? I know, right!? Eventually the type used became a status symbol more than a functional choice in the same way some would choose a luxury car over a Yugo.

Most people don't know about the different types of horse carriages, so here are examples. If you are interested in horse drawn carriage rides, these are popular options you should be able to find in the Denver, CO metro area as well as other major cities if you choose to travel.

Types of Horse Drawn Carriages To Rent In Denver

* Vis-a-Vis Horse Carriages are carriages that have seating on either side of the cab. Guests may sit beside or opposite one another. Vis-a-vis horse drawn carriages are given this name because "vis-a-vis" is French for "face-to-face". This is kind of neat because the word "carriage" is also derived from a French word meaning "to carry in a vehicle".

* Cinderella Horse Carriages have round cabs and are suspended in a way that make them appear to be almost floating between the wheels. This is not strange considering that Cinderella's carriage was supposed to resemble the form of a pumpkin. If you really want to feel like a princess at your Denver wedding, rent a Cinderella horse drawn carriage. They are very elegant and luxurious.

* Barouche Horse Carriages look almost like a primitive car. The body style is very similar to the first cars that came later. These are not quite as elegant in style as a Cinderella horse drawn carriage but they are very comfortable and a smart choice for a new twist on an old style.

While there are many types of horse drawn carriages, you are most likely to find these styles when you rent horse drawn carriages in Denver. These styles have been given many unique modifications but are the most popularly used horse carriages today.

Ask The Celebration Advisor: My husband and I just moved to New York City. I wouldn't call us "bumpkin" but we'd never heard of a difference between party rentals and wedding rentals. They were just lumped together. Not to sound like an idiot when we plan our next party, what's the difference? ~ Anna Claire in New York NY

The Celebration Advisor: Congrats on the move! New York is a wonderful place to live or to visit. My personal favorite thing to do is to go to parties there. Let me tell you, New Yorkers know how to throw a great party! Their weddings also tend to be quite special so here's what you need to know to separate the two:

Party rentals in New York NY center around things that would make the party fun. People in New York love to be entertained. That's a given. Party rentals for parties in New York would be things like bounce house rentals (for parties in the 'burbs), entertainment rentals (video games, movies, music), animal rentals for outdoor parties, and other things that set the party apart. It could also be something as simple as party supplies such as helium tanks for blowing up balloons.

Wedding rentals are for more popular among New Yorkers. Wedding rentals are a big deal to people in New York City because of the city's reputation for high style and trend-setting savoir faire. For this reason, you would be more interested in bone china rentals, crystal glass and stemware rentals, real silverware rentals, chair and table rentals, and linen rentals that would include napkins, tablecloths and chair covers. These are more upscale items that form an instant impression with wedding guests.

Hope that helps! Enjoy your stay in New York and please return to Wedding And Party Network to share pictures of the next weddings and parties you attend!

Ask The Celebration Advisor: Ok, so I'm starting to get a little bit manic because my wedding is happening in a month. My fiance and I picked a caterer who doesn't supply the tables and chairs and what not. I have NO idea where to look to rent that stuff. What do I do!? ~ Kaley L. in Los Angeles, CA

The Celebration Advisor: First, take a deep breath! It'll be ok! You came to the right place to find wedding rental stores in Los Angeles CA.

Second, make a list of the things that you need. This will help when you call/visit the wedding rental store. The clerk will be able to find the chairs, tables, linens and all of those things that you'll need. Since you are having a catered reception, consider renting things like these for your wedding:

  • Tables & Chairs — Renting tables and chairs may save you a fee at the banquet hall.
  • Crystal Glasses — Your guests have to drink from something!
  • China & Silverware — Don't have guests eating off of paper plates at your wedding. It's unheard of in L.A.
  • Linens — Linen rentals include napkins, tablecloths and other similar things.
  • Chair Covers — Chair covers make those rental chairs look far better!

No matter what part of L.A. you are in, finding a place to rent wedding supplies is simple. Also, consider party rentals and party supplies stores in Los Angeles. They will have great wedding favors and may also have a different variety of rental items for your wedding.

Lastly, have a great time! You're only a click away from a wedding rental store. Relax! Have a great time and live itup!

I'm not a big fan of large cities as a rule, but I visited Fort Worth, Texas with some friends recently. They love the night life. They love to boogie. They apparently don't like me much because they dragged me to what seemed like every party in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area over the course of our three day visit. In their defense, well, more like "this cloud's silver lining is" that I learned a lot about what it takes to throw a fantastic party in Fort Worth and what's missing at the bad ones.

We went to one party in Fort Worth and I was amazed. It was like clubbing in someone's backyard. The hosts apparently invented the words "Fort Worth TX Party Rentals" because they were living it UP down there. They had every party supply under the sun that was even remotely pertinent to the theme of their party. They had food catered in, a disc jockey that was off the chain, and a lot of awesome people enjoying themselves.

It didn't come up with the host that night because they were complete strangers, but I realized at the next party just how important certain party rentals/supplies are. For instance, ever been to a party without a single piece of entertainment? Yeah…no. Bad idea, hosts and hostesses! Entertaining your guests is crucial which is why party rentals would've been right up there alley. Come on. Video games, a karaoke machine, something. I'm surprised we were at that one for more than 6 seconds. Oddly enough, it took only about 7 for us to leave.

Now I'm not what you would consider a party aficionado. I've been to my fair share of parties and weddings. I've helped with party and wedding rentals. I've helped string decorations and set out supplies. I've hosted about a dozen and a half. Okay, maybe I'm am a party aficionado. Either way, I definitely know what's entertaining and what is far from it. For that reason, I'm wholeheartedly urging hosts and hostesses not to make the same mistake. Fort Worth, Texas–go out and find awesome party rentals!
