2008 Wedding Reception Decorations Trends Tips

April 9th, 2008 - Posted by Jamie Adams

Reception Decorations Trends
The focus of wedding reception decorations in 2008 is intimate elegance with a carefree and natural flow. Brides are increasingly incorporating nature into the receptions, often moving the celebration outdoors. There are several ways that this year’s brides are enjoying the festivities. The following are tips for following the bridal reception trends popular in 2008.

  • Use chair covers to add a simple touch of elegance to the seating. Tablecloths and elaborate centerpieces are enhanced by the delicate accent of a coordinating chair cover.
  • Bright colors, rich and vivid, are very popular this year. The boldest colors of the event should be used during the reception as this is the most relaxed and festive of the celebrations.
  • Candles and soft lighting accents such as track lighting, string lights, or party lights are rapidly growing in popularity. Whether the main lighting of an intimate gathering or accent lighting in a less formal party, candles and soft lighting add a rich and elegant feel to every reception.
  • Banquet tables are replacing round tables for more intimate mingling. Long tables also afford much more creative freedom for elaborate and decorative centerpieces.
  • Captivating floral arrangements take center stage among reception decorations. Long flowing blooms cascading from tall vases as centerpieces, place cards nestled into petals scattered gently over each table, and aromatic arrangements carefully placed to excite the guests are popular ideas for floral decorations.
  • Centerpieces carry a huge importance as other decorations are trimmed for a more light and airy reception. Outdoor weddings particularly emphasize centerpieces as these pull together the decorations around the chairs and tables which are often the major focal points.
