Wedding Wednesday – Who Should I Tell My Engagement About First?
Your Wedding Wednesday Question
Who should I tell my engagement about first?
Answer:
It's always considerate to share the news with your close family and friends before advertising it to the whole world through your social media site of choice. If you have children, tell them first. If not, it's always nice to tell parents, grandparents, close family members and then your close friends. But, this is completely up to you.
We hope this answered your question!

2014 Summer Wedding Trends
You don't have to skim the internet long to figure out what is on trend for 2014 summer bridal season. There are many trends out there that you'll absolutely fall in love with and want to include in your wedding. So, what are those? Wedding and Party Network has a few trends that you'll love!
Vintage: There is something so romantic about adding old-world charm to your wedding day. It can take on a very personal touch by adding family heirlooms into the mix. If you have a guestbook table, grace it with old family wedding photos in classic frames. "Something borrowed" is easy when you are sensitive to the romantic moments that have occurred in your family's past. Romance is timeless, and those delicate touches will be your favorite parts of the day. Also, floral crowns, lace, rose tinted decor–it's all very feminine and dainty for this summer's nuptials. And it isn't just all about the bride–it is becoming increasingly popular to spend almost as much time styling the groom also. Brown suits and suspenders are making a come back. Being a big fan of all things vintage, I'm loving it all.
Sparkle: For the bride who wants romance, but also a dash of fun into her day, glitter is the way to go. Add it to invitations or jewelry for subtlety, or go big by incorporating it into your gown or the bridesmaid dresses. Very feminine wedding gowns with gold sparkle for the bridesmaids brings both aspects together. Flashy shoes of any shade showcase a fun and flirty personality, and putting glitz on your cake can bring that personality right into your reception.
A fan of the outdoors? If you or your groom are outdoor people, this is the perfect season to tap into that and use it for your wedding celebration. You can re-purpose branches and pretty flowers into an archway to get married under or to use as a backdrop. Or just let scenery do the talking and have your ceremony at an inspiring outdoor location. This summer's trend of using soft neutrals to make big statements works well outside.
Whether you're going for a theme or really desire to tap into your past, this spring/summer you'll find plenty to work with. The touches are delicate and timeless and easy to throw your own expression into. Creativity is key this bridal season and it starts with your own personal story. What better way to spend your day than putting your story into a celebration!

Wedding Wednesday – Does My Future Sister-In-Law Have to Be a Bridesmaid?
Your Wedding Wednesday Question
Does my future sister-in-law have to be a bridesmaid?
Answer:
The simple answer is no. It really depends on you and your relationship with her or the family. Some families expect that, while with others that issue doesn't occur. If you're having a small wedding and aren't particularly close with your sister-in-law, explain it that way. However, if it's a larger bridal party, she's going to be family soon and you want to build a good relationship with her. She doesn't have to be in your wedding, but this is your future family. So, it's something to consider.
We hope this answered your question!

4 Fun Winter Party Ideas
Winter is often known as a gloomy season, but these fun party ideas will leave you anything but gloomy. If you're looking to step outside the box this holiday season, look no further. Brisk weather may veto outdoor celebrations, but you can have just as much fun indoors! Here are a few suggestions.
Wreath Party: It's a big trend to have a homemade wreath for each season. It's also the perfect excuse to get everyone together. It's fun to get together with friends and let your creative juices flow. Showcase each other's unique personalities in wreath form!
House Decorating: Get your closest friends together and meet at one of your houses, break out all of your Christmas decorations and get to decorating. It can be a little daunting trying to know where to start from year to year, so with help from friends you can get it done faster, plus spend quality time with girlfriends. Have some finger foods set out to snack on as you go. It's also smart to have a girls night with purpose.
Family Dinner Rehearsal with Friends: It's usually standard that within your group of friends someone will be hosting a big family dinner/get together during the holiday season. If you are nervous about the job of hosting, or just want to ease some anxiety, invite friends or family you're comfortable with for a practice night. Cook some of the foods you're planning on putting on the menu, experiment with new recipes, try out a table setting, etc. Practice makes perfect! And your friends can give you suggestions as well.
Silver Theme: This is a fun one to do with friends who still love the traditional winter and Christmas colors. Make this party all about the color silver, one of the most winter-friendly colors. Have everyone contribute foods in the silver family and you can also take it a step further by exchanging gag gifts with each other that go along with the color theme.
Need great ideas for parties this winter? Here are four that will definitely be a hit this winter!
Thanksgiving Traditions – New & Old
The Thanksgiving season is here and with it comes all our favorite long-held traditions. But traditions can only stay alive if we enjoy keeping them so here are some tips for spicing up your classic turkey day traditions.
Classic Thanksgiving Traditions With A Twist!
#1. Family Celebration – Holidays are all about spending time with our families. Often we'll travel great distances and go to great lengths just to make it to a dinner with dish in hand and then a few hours later turn around and head home. Sometimes our families come to us.
New Twist: Connect in a different way! Invite friends or neighbors who can't make it to their families for a visit this year. Also use video conferencing to see family members who are too far away.
#2. Football – Everyone has the die-hard sports fans in their family. As soon as the game starts, nothing better come between the couch and the screen! Yearly games are highly anticipated and if you are throwing fantasy football into the mix there is a whole new reason to not miss a game.
New Twist: Offer another type of sport for those that aren't interesting in watching the game. Leave the dishes for later and make a point to enjoy some together time. A sports-themed video game tournament can be a lot of fun (held in another room, if needed!) If you have ping pong, darts or horseshoes available – start a new tradition of getting off the couch. You could even gasp! play actual football outside.
#3. Turkey Dinner – Every picture perfect Thanksgiving dinner wouldn't be complete without a golden roasted turkey. And there are those that stick with the same old standards each and every year. The dressing, the gravy, the cranberry sauce.
New Twist: Especially in families where multiple thanksgiving meals are attended, try breaking from tradition. Serve special appetizers and drinks instead and watch a film or play game together. Or consider picking a theme for the food each year (Cajun? Mexican? Indian? Southern? Tapas? ) to try new recipes and mix it up. Not ready to give up your turkey and dressing, no problem! Just try replacing one side dish or dessert with a new recipe. This will keeps things new and interesting.
#4. Giving Thanks – The holiday is named after this tradition, after all! So coming together to show gratitude for the bounty the year has brought should always be part of your celebration.
New Twist: Make the giving of thanks a little more tangible and a lot more fun with a "Thanks Jar." Get your family and friends to write down what they are thankful for on a piece of paper and collect them all together in a container. You can start collecting these at the beginning of the month or specifically on Thanksgiving Day. After dinner, take turns drawing out "thanks" and reading them aloud. You could even make it a fun game by guessing who wrote each. Save the best ones to include in your photo album!
