Wedding Tip of the Week – Wedding Registry

Now that you're engaged, it's time to start planning your wedding. However, have you thought of everything in between planning your wedding? Have you thought about your wedding registry? This sounds like the fun part, but yet it can be stressful. What dishes do you register for, what kitchen appliances do you need and what about bedding? So, we've come up with a few tips to make this process a little less stressful.

  1. Make sure you have PLENTY of time – Make sure you have no prior commitments that day so you can spend as much time as you like in the store. It takes longer than you think.
  2. Have a strategy – Talk with your significant other beforehand. Discuss if you would like certain styles, color schemes or appliances.
  3. What's in your home now? – See what you have already. Decide if that blender can stay or go or if you need an updated microwave.
  4. Choose different price points – This is for your guests. Not everyone can spend $100 for a gift and not everyone only wants to spend $10 for an item as well. Provide variety for your guests.
  5. Ask for advice – If you have friends who are recently married, ask them for advice. What did they use and what haven't they used? What was useful for them? While your needs maybe a little different, advice is always good to have before you register.

Answer: 

Neither sides of the family needs to host a bridal shower. Normally, etiquette prefers members of the bridal party or non family members host showers. If one side of the family insists of hosting a bridal shower, that's their decision and hopefully they'll invite the other side to the shower as well.

Top 5 Birthday Party Themes for Girls

If you’re beginning the research for your special girl’s birthday party, here is a helpful shortlist of five themes to choose from that can take your celebration to an extra special level of girly sweetness.

Tea Party: If you’re somebody who loves entertaining, this is a good one to throw at your house. Not only will you save money on a venue, but your birthday girl can have an intimate place to celebrate with her friends.
