The season of love is amongst us! If you've got a special valentine this V-Day, we love that for you, but this one is for the Galentines. If you love your gal pals, a Galentine's Day adventure is essential. Leslie Knope would accept nothing less. Throwing a little get-together always works, but if you're looking to get a little creative for Galentine's Day, we've got some ideas that are Cupid approved!
For the Foodies
In our humble (and often correct) opinion, little treats on Galentine's Day make the world go round. If you and your friends are foodies, try incorporating that into your plans! Challenge your friends to a bake-off, splurge on a fancy dinner, or host a themed charcuterie board party! They don't have to be Valentine's Day related, but giving everyone a specific theme can be a great way to switch up the snacks. You can do it with food, beverages, or anything your heart desires. The important thing is that you put what you love on there. It's the day of love after all.
Fun Activities
With our busy and hectic lives, it's often hard to dedicate time to do fun things with our friends. If you're getting everyone together for Galentine's Day, use this opportunity to do all the things you've been wanting to do for months! Paint and sip parties are popular amongst the girlies (who doesn't love tipsy painting?) and everyone got super into DIY crafts this past year. Try DIYing some treats like candles, soaps, body scrubs, or flower arrangements. Make them for yourselves or gift them to each other! Nothing says “I love you” like a homemade gift.
Relax and Rejuvenate
Once again, our lives are hectic. If you're a busy girl on the go, maybe you just need a little TLC for your Galentine's Day. Double up your plans and use your scrubs and soaps from your DIY activities in your spa day! Do a nice foot soak and give each other pedicures or try DIY facemasks! Here's a list of ingredients you can use to have your skin glowing and feeling fresh:
- Oatmeal – Can help improve dryness and lock in moisture. It also makes a great anti-inflammatory!
- Avocado – The high concentration of fats in avocado is great for extra moisture and vitamin E can help protect against free-radical damage.
- Honey – Honey is a natural antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory. It can also help with reducing redness and acts as a gentle exfoliant.
- Aloe – Aloe is incredibly soothing with anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties
We hope you enjoy your day of celebrating your friendships! No matter how you choose to spend your Galentine's Day, time with friends is always special. Adding some extra fun activities for the day is just the icing on the cake.
