Why Wear White? Non-Traditional Wedding Dress Inspiration
Why do brides wear white? The usual answer to this question is that white represents purity and innocence. Actually, it is because of a fashion trend. Until the 1800’s, brides often wore their best dress, regardless of color. This changed when Queen Victoria decided to wear white on her wedding day. The trend for brides to wear white has continued since.
Wearing a dress in a color other than white is becoming more prominent in the wedding world. Wearing a gown in your favorite color is a wonderful way to make your day your own. Our wedding experts have chosen five dresses that we think will add the perfect pop of color to your big day!
Pretty Pink
This beautiful pink gown features a floral applique that cascades down the bodice onto the skirt. Flowing tulle gives it an ethereal feel, and sparkling sequin beading make this dress breathtaking. Added bonus? It also comes in blue!

Move Over Wedding Hashtags
By now you've seen all kinds of #wedding hashtags. From the cliche #JohnandMary2016 to the crazy #WeTiedtheKnotNowLetsBoogieDown, brides are stressing over a special hashtag that no one else has. But there's a new craze on the rise. One that is a little more personalized: Snapchap Geofilters.
Earlier this year, Snapchat began allowing its users to design custom Geofilters. Now you can design your own Geofilter, just for your big day (or bachelorette party)! It costs as little as $5 and there are a few guidelines to follow, but now your friends can snap pictures and apply a special filter you create.
The process is fairly simply, and Snapchat even has some templates to help you out. The first step is to design your filter. Snapchat suggests not covering too much of the screen and to make your filter fun to look at. Also, you are not allowed to include photographs of people, phone numbers, hashtags or social media handles on your filter.
After you have your design, you need to decide when and where you want Snapchat to activate your filter. The cost of your filter will depend on these factors, so make sure you know when the filter should go live as it is only available during the time you set.
Now you are all set to submit your filter to Snapchat for their approval, which takes about one business day. You are not charged for your filter until the time it is scheduled to go live.

2016 Color of the Year Weddings
Say goodbye to the earthy, rustic shades of 2015 and usher in a soft new era with Pantone's 2016 colors of the year: Rose Quartz and Serenity.
The first ever blend of hues offers exciting new ways to incorporate a variety of color palettes into your wedding day.
Florals
Take your walk down the aisle with a breathtaking bouquet sporting the cheery, yet delicate, pink of Rose Quartz. Perhaps a bundle of light-colored roses, daisies or tulips will adorn your hands, speckled with a blue lavender of Serenity in the way of jewels or ribbons.
If using Serenity as your main color choice, hydrangeas, periwinkles or agapanthus are all silky smooth choices that will bring a sense of peace over your wedding party and take away any stress.
Decorations
Soft muted colors may not be your thing, but Rose Quartz and Serenity can still work for you! Take a walk down the wild side with metallic versions of these two colors and watch your centerpieces, banners and even invitations pop with shine.
Imagine a sparkling glass vase with a gleaming Rose Quarts ribbon tied around the top and Serenity-inspired flowers inside. And if you want an extremely unique yet gorgeous centerpiece, place an actual rose quartz on each table and wow your guests!
Accessories
The perfect balance of contrast and blending of Pantone's 2016 color combination allows for a spark of creativity when it comes down to your accessories. Create an ombre effect with your bridesmaid dresses, flowing peacefully from Rose Quartz for your Maid of Honor to the relaxing blue of Serenity. Or place some color onto your own white dress, perhaps with a tulle underlay or a ribbon.
Still looking for "something blue?" Pantone has you covered with Serenity. Incorporate it by sewing your wedding date onto your dress, painting the bottoms of your heels or donning a pair of gemstone earrings.
The possibilities are endless with the combination of Rose Quartz and Serenity, so take a deep breath and fall back into the peacefulness these colors are sure to give you on your wedding day!
